"This is a beautifully written book, easy to follow with some well placed humour. It takes what can be a very complex and intimidating subject matter and explains it in everyday language that takes the fear out of what's to come. Often this kind of book can be so long and complex it's hard to get past the first 2 pages, but this book is refreshingly different - it's concise and easy to read. Several professionals have contributed, but again in a language that resonates. I particularly loved the many personal soundbites from various women the author has helped prepare for childbirth - they really show that there are many, many ways to approach the birth and each woman can be open to finding her own. Her approach to ante natal health is excellent; informing and empowering women to take control of their own health. All too often these days, Mums to be are not prepared for the physical demands of labour and the recovery after, especially if their day job involves sitting at a desk. This book highlights how simple, safe exercises can make a massive difference to a womans' preparation for her birth process. The exercises are well thought out and presented (with plenty of photos) in a way that ensures Mums can follow them easily and therefore minimsing the risk of injury.
