Level 1 POST BIRTH REHAB CLASSES
FitMama post birth classes are designed to suit women who have experienced all types of child birth, whether natural or medical.
Before you return to your usual form of exercise, it is important to rehabilitate your core and pelvic floor so that your body can cope with the demands of your practice.
Our classes are designed to safely rehabilitate your core and pelvic floor in a gentle and progressive format and help your mental health in these delicate early weeks of motherhood. Sessions are suitable to prepare you for your six week check up, and to safely help you return to more intense exercise in a few weeks.
We teach a combination of methods, including
Abdominal Vacuum Training (also known as low pressure exercise or hypopressive exercise)
Gentle Pilates style methods for back strength and postural correction
Physio-style pain relief methods for back, hips, pelvis etc
Easy nutrition for coping with sleep deprivation
Our courses give you the option to progress onto a fun, postnatal exercise class to increase your fitness and suitable for mums who have completed this post birth rehabilitation course.
Classes are operated in short 4 week courses so you can manage your budget when on maternity pay. You only need to do one of these courses, unless you feel that you need another course to help you recover. You can discuss this with your FitMama instructor who will help you decide your best course of action.
When you sign up to our classes, you have free access to our online support portal via WhatsApp, so you can ask for help and advice at any time you need it, or just natter with other mums.
During Covid-19 Lockdowns, courses are held online via Zoom, so you can attend from anywhere.
When Can I attend?
You should only participate in these courses if you have recovered well from your childbirth experience.
In the case of natural childbirth, you can participate as early as 2-3 weeks after childbirth.
In the case of medical childbirth, such as forceps or caesarean section, you may attend as soon as you are driving your car or able to go to the shops and push a trolley with no problems.
If you are experiencing any kind of infection, you should wait until you have been prescribed antibiotics and a week has passed.
Most courses are run on a monthly basis for £39.99 per month. Exchange rates may affect the price of courses in other countries.
Progression to other exercise classes:
Your instructor will be able to advise if you are ready to progress onto more intense exercise after this course, depending on your recovery.
